Recent Artists of the Month
Janice Knepley was our November Artist of the Month. Janice, a retired school nurse, began her interest in quilting a quarter century ago. The beautiful quilts her great-grandmother produced inspired her. Janice enjoys the traditional patterns, such as the log cabin, the ocean wave, and the flower garden. She has been able to offer instructions to other newcomers to the trade, by teacher at the HCAC and at Four County in the Adult Ed Department. She feels there is no such thing as “too many quilts.” It is a lifetime quest to design, sew, finish, and gather as many quilts as she can. Come to the Arts Center to enjoy this heritage art.
October featured Patrick Oberhaus. He is from Liberty Center, where he graduated in 1997. He moved to Napoleon in 2005 and currently works for the Lear Corporation. He has been painting since 1995 and is influenced by artists William S. Barroughs, William Blake, and Andy Warhol.
September's artist of the month was Steve Porter.
